Meet Randy Wallock, founder and lead guide of Vermont Gravel Road Adventures. He fell for overlanding years ago, and that passion still powers his days and plans his seasons. Patient mentors taught him to read terrain, recover safely, and tread lightly, and their kindness shaped his calm, encouraging, confidence building approach to teaching. Fresh from a run to Hudson Bay, Randy spends most weekends roaming New England to scout new gravel and class IV tracks for guests. He also writes for Trail4Runner, sharing practical tips, trip reports, and gear know-how with a wide community. Best of all, he loves exploring with his favorite trail crew—his wife and two kids—proving the backcountry can be welcoming, safe, and a whole lot of fun for families.
